 INTRODUCTION 

The Socioeconomics and Applied Statistics Department at the Central Agricultural Research Institute is an interdisciplinary field that analyzes the interrelationship between economic activity and social factors. It studies how economic processes affect societal issues, such as wealth distribution, social inequality, and the role of governmental policies in shaping the living standards of individuals and communities. The Department plays a crucial role in research at the Central Agricultural Research Institute.  The Department applies statistical methods which are essential for reaching non-questionable conclusions in social sciences, and Statistics impact society through data analysis and reinforce the discipline's influence. 

OBJECTIVES OF THE DEPARTMENT

To develop concepts and conduct seminars and conferences on the socioeconomics issues related to agriculture

  • To identify socioeconomic problems associated with agriculture

  • To develop a research proposal on socioeconomic issues related to agriculture 

  • To research the different proposals on the socioeconomic issues related to agriculture

  • To use statistical concepts and software to analyze and interpret the research findings, and

  • To provide meaningful, useful, and valid information to policy-makers based on the research findings
