CARI Launches Digital Feedback Tool to Improve Service Delivery and Client Satisfaction in Bong County
SUAKOKO, Bong County – The Central Agricultural Research Institute (CARI), through its Socioeconomics and Applied Statistics Program, has officially launched a new digital tool designed to map priority services and collect client feedback to enhance service delivery in Bong County.
The initiative, introduced as a pilot, reflects CARI’s commitment to strengthening institutional performance in line with the Government of Liberia’s Service Delivery Charter (SDC) and the Performance Management Compliance System (PMCS).
Speaking at the launch, Mrs. Bendu Too Tonkollie, Acting Head of the Program, emphasized the importance of the initiative in addressing persistent challenges in service delivery.
“This assessment was driven by the need to tackle gaps in documentation, feedback channels, staff capacity, and monitoring mechanisms. Through a mixed-methods approach, we engaged farmers, cooperatives, policymakers, donors, and other stakeholders who directly interact with CARI’s services,” Mrs. Tonkollie stated.
The program’s initiative highlights that quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and satisfaction indices, while qualitative data were examined thematically to capture client perceptions, expectations, and recommendations.
Key findings revealed gaps in service timeliness, accessibility, responsiveness, and feedback handling, strong stakeholder interest in engaging with CARI, and high expectations for improved research outputs, training, and extension support.
The engagement concludes with recommendations to strengthen feedback systems, improve responsiveness to client needs, and align CARI’s service delivery with national standards.
Implementation of these measures will position CARI to deliver more effective, transparent, and client-centered services, supporting Liberia’s national hub for agricultural research and technology generation, CARI plays a pivotal role in advancing productivity, resilience, and sustainability across farming systems. Its mandate requires strong collaboration with farmers, cooperatives, policymakers, researchers, and development partners.
Despite its critical role, challenges in aligning service delivery with stakeholder expectations have constrained institutional effectiveness. This initiative represents a timely intervention, responding to growing national and international demands for measurable results, improved service quality, and enhanced public engagement in agricultural research and extension.
