He highlighted that if Liberia is to achieve significant progress in rice cultivation, it must start with the expertise and leadership of CARI scientists.

On the government's ARREST Agenda, Minister Nuetah underscored that agriculture, particularly rice production, is a major focus of the government's ARREST agenda. He assured that the Ministry of Agriculture is fully committed to supporting the process and ensuring that the necessary resources and backing are provided.

Commenting on encouragement for Intensive research, the Minister stimulated CARI scientists to engage in intensive research that would directly benefit Liberian farmers. He stressed that the outcomes of agricultural research should be geared towards informing and empowering farmers before they embark on mass production.

Reinforcing the passion for research, Dr. Nuetah urged the researchers and scientists at CARI to be passionate about their work, as the nation relies on their expertise to drive agricultural innovation. He reiterated that CARI is the only research institute in the country, and its work is crucial for the advancement of Liberia's agricultural sector.

The Minister challenged the administration of CARI to develop comprehensive research plans and submit them to the Liberian Government for support and implementation. This initiative aims to ensure that research efforts are well-coordinated and aligned with national agricultural goals.

CARI Director General, Dr. Arthur Bob Karnuah, expressed gratitude to Minister Nuetah for his visit and assured that under his leadership, CARI would collaborate closely with the Ministry of Agriculture. Dr. Karnuah emphasized that CARI is ready to undertake research projects that will yield tangible benefits for Liberian farmers, with the support of the Ministry and the government.

He promised to relay the insights and needs observed during the tour to the government and partners for further action and implementation.

The visit by Minister Nuetah highlights the critical role of CARI in Liberia's agricultural development, particularly in rice production.
